Bathroom mould removal before and after

Excessive mould growth to ceiling, cornice, walls and shower grout caused by condensation.
PRELIMINARY REPORT:
  • Exhaust fan was inadequate and not extracting enough air.
  • Paint on ceiling and walls was thin and allowed moisture absorption and therefore promoting mould growth.

TREATMENT:
  • Hepa vacuum to all affected surfaces.
  • Anti-Microbial treatment to all affected areas.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE OWNER:
  • Install new exhaust fan above the shower that extracts a min of 280m3 of air per hour.
  • Paint ceiling, cornice and walls using a mould inhibitor additive or wet area paint with a min of two coats.
  • Apply a water based grout sealer to the shower recess tile grout to help resist water absorption.
CONCLUSION:
This bathroom will be ready for the upcoming winter and should be mould free even with a family of four.
